Affect of Light Level on Photosynthesis
ANALYSIS
4. Based on the simulation experiments, what factors can affect the rate of photosynthesis in a plant? How do you know?
Temperature, amount of water available, carbon dioxide available, amount of sunlight available.
5. Write the equation for photosynthesis (use your book or online resources if you don't know it).
CO2 + H2O ==>C6H12O6 + O2
Carbon Dioxide + Water + sun energy = Sugar + Oxygen
6. What are the bubbles you are measuring in this lab? Why do the bubbles tell you how fast photosynthesis is
occurring?
The bubbles that I'm measuring in this lab are from Carbon Dioxide. Besides the bubbles tell me how fast photosynthesis is happening depending on how many CO2 , sugars , H2o ,ect.
7. Why is it important that you keep two variables constant (such as light level and color) while you're testing how a third variable (CO2 Level) affects photosynthesis?
It is important to maintain both variables constant so then, you will be able to have a more accurate answer besides you will appreciate better the difference between the experiments.
8. What settings can you put the simulator on to get the MAXIMUM rate of photosynthesis?
More CO2 as well the amount of light will give me more results of a maximum photosynthesis.
